Day 5: Pinning!!!

(12 p.m. - 5 p.m.)

Today was all about getting PLA's Pinterest set up, that was the first thing Shannon wanted me to do. I told her I was a pina-holic and that I pin all the time, if you look at my Pinterest page you will understand. I first explained how you set up your boards and the whole pinning process. Once you get started it is really no problem, the hardest part is getting your first board started. Then the rest is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

The first board she wanted me to do was called Arthouse, it is simply a board with paintings from abstract expressionist, modernist and Pop Art. I think I had the most fun with this board just because I paint myself. It didn't take me long to emerge myself into finding all the paintings I could, I just had to remember that I wasn't picking all the paintings that I liked. That I was picking paintings that inspired Shannon and that looked nice together on the page. I can tell you I learned a lot in that two hours of looking, and it Shannon loved the board.

The next board I did for Shannon was called Grunge Deco, this board took me a little longer to figure out. At first I didn't know what Shannon wanted in this board but after asking I got a lot good information. So the pinning started and I was on my way to pinning over one hundred pins. I also learned a lot about Art Deco after looking at all the pins, come to find out that the movie Metropolis. Which is a movie I saw in high school was during that period and you could tell by the shapes you saw decorating the set. Even in the recent released movie The Great Gatsby was inspired by Art Deco, how cool is that. The second part of the board was inspired by 90's Grunge fashion. The pins I found were full a girls wearing a lot of plaids shirt tied around their waist, jeans, crop tops Doc Martens and black sheer tights. The main color I saw in every pin was black and it reminded me of people who dressed gothic. 

Well, thats all I did for to day, tomorrow I will be working on finishing these boards and starting on some easy.com treasury. See you tomorrow!
